Anita, Ratna, and Gionna had been bestfriends since they were in the first grade of Senior High School. They studied in the same school and even in the same class. But they didn’t sit at the same place. Anita, as the secretary of class, sat in front of the teacher’s table beside the windows. She was usually busy because she had to prepare all the class things like vase, chalk, and etc. . Beside that, she also had to remind the teachers in every lesson to sign the class-book before they left and helped them to fill the students’ exam marks in the name-list. Being different with Anita, Ratna sat in the middle of class and she was not as busy as Anita because she was a treasurer. Every month, her job was to collect Rp 5,000 per student to buy the class-needed things. On the other hand, Gionna was the class monitor who was usually called as a ‘tomboy’ girl because she always behaved like a boy. She was a very violent, active, and strong-willed class monitor.
On a one rainy Monday in the morning, Anita, Ratna, and Gionna didn’t behave like usual. They didn’t sit, chit chat, and laugh together. They seemed to have a trouble in their friendship. What happened?? Did their friendship broke?? What was wrong?? The rainy day made them sadder and they didn’t face each other. The class surprised with their behaviour. Andy, the most handsome boy in that school, didn’t come that day. The class was suspicious whether Andy had made the three girls’ friendship broke. But how could just a boy break their 3 years’ friendship? No one could answer what the mystery was. Eventhough when the teacher asked Anita to help Gionna to take the books to the office, Anita refused. The teacher confused and he mumbled,”What happened with Anita? She never refused me if I asked her to help Gionna before. But, …” . The teacher suddenly remembered that Ratna was their bestfriends too. She must certainly know it! Then he pointed Ratna, Anita, and Gionna to come near him. He asked Anita,”What happened ?” Anita just stood and didn’t answer it.Then the teacher asked Gionna, but she also gave the same answer with Anita. The last person that the teacher hoped to tell about what happened with them is Ratna. He softly asked,” Ratna, please be honest.What happened? Please tell me. Don’t keep it. It won’t resolve your problem. Tell me , so I can help you!” Ratna started to tell it with the tears flooded her cheek. In fact, they had just had a fight among them. A fight to get Andy as their boyfriend. That was why Andy was absent on that day. Because of this ‘playboy’ Andy, they had become enemies and their friendship broke. It was a really pity of them. Anita and the violent girl-Gionna began to cry out after Ratna told it all. The teacher started to speak, “ I haven’t ever thought that your friendship could broke because of Andy. You had made a wrong choice of it. Let’s compare .‘Boyfriend’ or ‘bestfriend’ is the most important?”. No one could answer it. They knew what was their fault. The answer must be BESTFRIEND, because bestfriend is the person who always get together with them when they’re in happy or sad. Bestfriend is the place where they can share what they have and always supports one another. On the other hand, boyfriend is the person who they had just known for not so long. They couldn’t express what they felt with boyfriend as they express it to their bestfriend because bestfriend is the person that won’t left them when they were in sad or in happy time. Because of bestfriend too, they could make a good 3 year-friendship that always accompanied them when they were sad or happy.
At last , the three girls realized. They hugged and kissed one another to say sorry of the happening. They got an advice that “Bestfriend is a light that will always with us when the days bright and dark.” The mystery was revealed and they were lived happily then.
